Do CrowdRiff galleries meet accessibility standards?
Yes, CrowdRiff galleries are compliant with WCAG 2.0 AA standards and also meet ADA and AODA accessibility guidelines. This ensures galleries are usable for a wide range of users and assistive technologies.
Do galleries impact website load speed?
CrowdRiff galleries are designed to load fast and efficiently.
Galleries load asynchronously, meaning they don’t block other page content.
The average gallery load time is approximately 300 milliseconds.
We optimize performance by:
Compressing all images to significantly reduce file size while preserving visual quality.
Resizing images dynamically to match how they appear on the page. For example, a 1920×1080 image displayed at 480×270 will be delivered at 480×270.
Detecting screen pixel density and serving the best image version for each device, including higher-resolution images for retina displays.
Do galleries affect SEO?
CrowdRiff galleries can positively support SEO when used correctly.
Galleries help increase engagement and time on site, which are positive SEO signals.
To minimize performance impact, galleries are optimized to load only when needed:
Images and videos are size-optimized.
Assets begin loading only when the viewer scrolls close to the gallery.
Galleries are cached, so repeat views load faster.
Adding alt text to photos and videos can further improve SEO. You can do this by adding a description to each asset in your gallery.
How do I upgrade a gallery to the new platform?
Select the gallery you want to upgrade from the Galleries page.
Review the gallery preview in the new platform.
Click Upgrade when you’re ready.
Once upgraded:
The gallery is no longer accessible in the Classic platform.
The upgrade applies everywhere the gallery is embedded.
No changes to the embed code are required.
How do I know which galleries need upgrading?
Galleries that haven’t been upgraded are marked with a yellow exclamation icon in grid view.
What changes should I review before upgrading?
Before upgrading, you’ll see a preview of how your gallery will appear in the new platform. Review the following changes carefully:
Vertical-grid layouts convert to horizontal-grid layouts.
Full-screen asset views display asset details beside the asset instead of below.
Smart galleries convert to regular galleries.
If an asset has multiple CTAs, only the top-performing CTA is displayed.
Are there asset limitations after upgrading?
Yes. When adding assets to an upgraded gallery, you can only select assets that:
You own.
You have received usage rights for.
You have manually marked as approved.
