What is Saved URLs -- a CrowdRiff Chrome Extension?

Saved URLs is a simplified way to save Instagram post links and request rights—all without leaving Instagram. Available in the CrowdRiff Chrome extension (formerly Sidekick), it makes sourcing content faster and easier.

What changed with Saved URLs?

With the launch of Saved URLs, we’ve retired the older “Add via URL” feature for a more streamlined experience.

What was deprecated?

  • The Add by URL page in the classic CrowdRiff interface is no longer available.

  • Add by URL in the old Sidekick extension is no longer supported.

  • The From Sidekick section has been removed from the Discover page.

What happens to content previously added by URL or Sidekick?

No worries—those assets are still in your library. To find them, use the search filter:

Source: Sidekick.

What if I need to manually approve a Saved URL—especially with DMs or blanket rights?

Due to Meta’s latest API requirements, Saved URL assets can only be pulled from Instagram if the user @mentions your account in their post. This update is part of Meta’s effort to ensure that content usage complies with rights and permissions policies.

What are my options if I’ve received approval via DM or have blanket rights?

  1. Use a Collector for blanket rights content.

  2. Add the user as a Followed Account (for business and creator accounts). This makes their content easily searchable by username so you can manually mark assets as approved in your library
