Design with approved CrowdRiff assets directly in Canva using the CrowdRiff app. Here’s how to get started and troubleshoot common questions.

How do I connect the CrowdRiff app in Canva?

  1. Log in to your Canva account

  2. Click Apps in the left-hand menu

  3. Search for CrowdRiff, then click to open the app listing

  4. Choose how you want to start:

    1. Use in existing design – Select a saved project; the CrowdRiff app appears in the sidebar

    2. Use in new design – Choose a format (e.g., Instagram Story); the app loads in the sidebar

How do I log in to the CrowdRiff app?

  1. Click Connect when prompted

  2. Sign in using your CrowdRiff credentials

  3. Grant permission to allow CrowdRiff to sync assets with your Canva account

How are my assets organized in Canva?

You’ll see two main sections:

  • My Visuals Folders – Available with the upgraded DAM

  • Discover Assets – A preview of your discoverable visuals

Click See all to explore or search within either section.

💡Pro Tip

  • If you’re part of multiple organizations, you’ll be asked to select one. You can switch later by clicking Switch account from the top view.

Why can’t I see all of my assets in the CrowdRiff app?

Only ready-to-use assets appear in Canva. This includes assets that:

  • You uploaded

  • Were submitted via a Collector or Creator

  • Have confirmed usage rights

If you don’t see an asset, check its rights status in the CrowdRiff platform.

Why can’t I find a specific asset that’s ready-to-use?

The CrowdRiff Canva app supports natural language search only. Unlike the main platform, you can’t search by tags or metadata.

  • Organize assets into folders in CrowdRiff first to make them easier to locate in Canva.

How do I bring Canva designs back into CrowdRiff?

  1. Go to Projects in Canva and open your design

  2. Click the … menu and select Download

  3. Upload the file to CrowdRiff using your normal upload flow

How do I log out or switch accounts in the app?

  • To switch organizations, click Switch organization at the top of the app

  • To log in with a different CrowdRiff user account, uninstall and reinstall the app, then reconnect using the new credentials
