You can update asset metadata from the asset details view, either one by one or in bulk using batch editing.

How do I edit metadata for a single asset?

To update metadata on an individual asset, open the asset and enter edit mode directly from the Details page.

  1. Open the asset's Details page.

  2. Click the pencil icon to enter edit mode.

  3. Update the relevant metadata fields (e.g., title, description, tags, author).

  4. Click Save to apply changes.

The updated metadata appears immediately on the Details tab.

How do I edit metadata for multiple assets at once?

Use bulk editing when you need to apply the same metadata changes across several assets at the same time.

  1. Select the assets you want to edit.

  2. In the action bar, click Edit Details.

  3. Update the metadata fields you want applied to all selected assets.

  4. Click Save.

To confirm the update, open one of the edited assets and check the Details or Licensing tab.

What metadata fields can I edit?

Editable fields are organized across three sections:

  • Author

  • Description

  • Filename

Details tab:

  • Location

  • Keywords

  • Alt Text

Licensing tab:

  • Expiry Date

  • Usage Restrictions

💡 Pro Tips:

  • To change a location, delete the existing value first, then enter the new one

  • In the Keywords field, you can type a new keyword or choose from suggested terms

  • To update Usage Restrictions or Expiry Date, go to the Licensing tab

  • When batch editing, click a keyword to filter assets that already include that keyword

Heads up:

  • Expired assets are hidden from galleries, photo walls, Media Hub, and share portals

  • You cannot edit folders or galleries in metadata edit mode

    • To update these, use the plus icon in the asset details panel or manage them directly in the folder/gallery view

  • In batch editing, any changes you make will apply to all selected assets
