How do I share a folder?
You can create a share link for a folder in two ways:
Open the folder and click Share
Click the three dots next to the folder name and select Share
What sharing options are available for folders?
When creating a share link, you can:
Choose Can view (view-only access)
Choose Can view and download (requires viewers to accept terms and conditions before downloading)
Set an optional expiration date
Click Copy Link to share
Once a folder is shared, a sharing indicator will appear across the platform — including in the navigation panel and within the asset details view — so it’s clear that the folder has been shared.
Do subfolders inherit sharing settings?
Yes. Sharing a folder automatically includes all subfolders and assets.
However, subfolders can also have their own share links with separate permissions and expiration dates.
What do external viewers see?
When someone opens a share link:
They can browse the shared folder
Clicking an asset opens a limited asset details view
Only relevant fields are shown (e.g., usage restrictions, author, location, file info)
💡Pro Tip
Only one permission setting can be active per folder at a time
Link expiration is optional—when a link expires, access is disabled (same as switching to No access)
You can update permissions or expiry anytime from the folder’s Share settings
❗Heads up
If you reactivate an expired link, it uses the same URL
You cannot change the share link URL
Download tracking is not currently available
How do I share an individual asset?
You can create a share link for a single asset in three ways:
Click Share on hover
Open the asset details page and click Share
For social assets, go to the Usage Rights page and click Share
For social posts, you can choose to share:
Just the selected asset
All assets from that post
Are there different rules for individual asset links?
Yes!
An expiration date is required
Maximum expiration is 180 days
💡Pro Tip
Each time you generate a link, a new link is created
You can reuse a previously generated link if you still have it
You cannot edit permissions or expiration after generating the link
If you need flexible permissions, consider adding the asset to a folder and sharing the folder instead.
