When is the classic experience being sunset?
The classic experience will be sunset on December 1.
After December 1, you can no longer switch to the classic experience.
Most features you may still use classic for are already in the new experience. The rest are coming soon.
What do I need to do before December 1?
Complete these steps before the sunset so nothing is interrupted on your website.
Upgrade or archive your classic galleries. Use the banner at the top of your Galleries list to review all your classic galleries at once.
Move from API v2 to API v3. If your organization uses API v2, follow the API v2 to v3 migration guide.
Try requesting rights in the new experience (recommended). Getting familiar with it now means you’re ready to go on December 1.
What happens to my classic galleries if I don’t upgrade them?
Your website won’t be affected. Your embed codes stay the same, so you don’t need to make any changes on your site.
Any galleries you haven’t upgraded by December 1 will be:
Automatically archived
Kept live on your website
Available to upgrade at any time
How do I get ready to request rights in the new experience?
Rights requests in the new experience are faster to send and more likely to be approved. Try sending a request now to see how it works.
Once the new rights settings are available in the upcoming weeks, set up the following so every request sounds like your brand and follows your rules:
Your brand voice
Any required legal terms
Your approval rules
What’s new in search?
Search now has two modes, so you can find the right content whether you’re exploring or hunting for something specific. See how search works for details.
AI Mode (default): Describe what you’re looking for in your own words, like “cozy restaurant patio at sunset.” You get results that match the setting, mood, and visual elements, even if those words aren’t in the asset’s metadata. Use it to explore ideas or find a specific look.
Standard Mode: Search for exact words across asset metadata, including descriptions, social captions, locations, keywords, usernames, authors, hashtags, and file names. Use it when you know exactly what you’re looking for.
What’s new in galleries?
Galleries in the new experience help you showcase your content in more ways and give visitors a more polished browsing experience.
Carousel and slideshow layouts: Showcase your assets in more ways, wherever they appear on your website.
A more polished visitor experience: Rounded corners, dark and light mode, and video autoplay.
Redesigned CTAs: Create and style CTAs right in the gallery editor, tailor them per gallery, and see which ones drive the most clicks.
Language and embed options for multi-language galleries: Show visitors the right language automatically, or set one language for everyone.
You also get these newly added options:
Randomized asset order
More asset size options
Archiving
Brand color sync
Improved asset finding in the gallery editor
What’s new in rights requests?
Rights requests in the new experience save you time and help you get more approvals.
AI-generated rights requests: Each request is unique, tailored to the asset and how you plan to use it. Tailored requests increase approval rates, and you spend less time writing.
Automatic approvals for accounts you follow: Use this for creators or partners who have given you blanket usage rights approval (Engagement Pro plans and up).
Manual approvals: Manually approve usage rights when you’ve received approval outside of CrowdRiff.
What’s coming next to rights requests?
These rights features are coming in the upcoming weeks:
AI-generated requests in your brand voice, with your required legal language
Custom approval rules (any affirmative response, or specific words or phrases)
Request rights in bulk
What else is coming to the new experience?
Photo Walls: Coming before December 1. Your existing Photo Walls and their assets will be moved over automatically.
Advanced rights: A new way for creators to accept your terms and conditions through a link. Details to come.
What isn’t coming over to the new experience?
These features won’t be available in the new experience:
Partner Network
Social Publisher
Advanced Rights: Our product team is exploring new ways for creators to accept your terms and conditions, like through a link. We'll share more if and when this becomes available.
