How Do I Request to Use an Asset?

To use Instagram assets you don’t own—you must request permission from the creator. This ensures proper usage rights and protects your brand.

How do I request rights to use an Instagram asset?

There are two ways to initiate a rights request:

  1. Hover over the asset and click Request to Use, or

  2. Click into the asset and select the Request to Use button from the asset detail view.

What details do I need, and how do I generate the comment?

After clicking Request to Use, select the Instagram account that will post the comment under Post request as. Choose a Usage Type that reflects where the asset will be used (e.g., digital, print, or general marketing). You can also provide optional context in the How Will You Use This Asset field.

Then click Generate Comment to create a unique, AI-powered rights-request comment. Review and edit the generated text to match your brand’s tone and voice before posting.

What happens after I generate the comment?

Click Copy Request and Open Instagram. This will copy your comment and open Instagram in a new tab. Paste the comment into the Instagram post’s comment box and publish it. Double check you’re logged into the correct Instagram account—Instagram will default to the account used most recently.
